Apartments in greater demand than land or houses
As much as 72 percent of citizens who purchase a real property in the past couple of years opted for an apartment. 18 percent bought a house and 10 percent a construction land, shows the research carried out by real estate search portal CentarNekretnina, conducted on 700 respondents in September 2008. Apartments were mostly purchased by households with monthly income between HRK 10,000 and 14,000 (40 percent), or over HRK 14,000 (42 percent), while only 18 percent of respondents with households income below HRK 8,000 a month bought an apartment. 51 percent of respondents who were looking for an apartment to buy in the past two years were between 26 and 35 years old (51 percent).
