15.9 percent more building permits in September
The total of 1,345 building permits were issued in September, 15.9 percent more compared with September 2007, the Central Bureau of Statistics reports. The number of permits issued between January and September 2008 was down 10.9 percent compared with the same period last year. According to facility type, 88.5 percent of building permits in September were issued for buildings, and 11.5 percent for other facilities. According to type of construction, 81.5 percent of permits referred to new facilities and 18.5 percent to reconstructions. Based on the building permits issued in September, 2,393 apartments with the average floor space of 81.6 sqm will be built.
