10 percent more tourists in vacation homes
Between June 15 and September 15 this year, vacation homes in Croatia recorded 10 percent more tourist arrivals and 7 percent more night stays compared with the same period last year, the Central Bureau of Statistics (Crostat) reports. The date were provided by the research on non-commercial tourism turnover, conducted on tourists-vacation home owners, members of their families, relatives, and friends, and based on the tourist fee records kept by tourist boards. In the given period, the total of 270,300 persons stayed in vacation homes, recording 4.01 million night stays. The number of local guests rose 6 percent to 121,000, with 2.752 night stays (+3 percent). There were 150,000 foreigners (+14 percent), with 1.3 million night stays (+15 percent).
